Tree Planting at Hunter Brook Preserve

Volunteers are needed to join Preserve Manager Ben Kleist to plant and protect native trees throughout Hunter Brook Preserve in order to replace trees lost to storms, pests, disease, and deer damage.

This event is rain or shine. Volunteers should expect to perform moderate hiking (2 miles) and work will be done mostly off-trail in the woods with flat areas and gentle slopes. To protect against thorny plants, ticks, and poison ivy, volunteers should wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and long sleeves. Volunteers should bring a water bottle; light snacks, work gloves, and tools will be provided.
