English-Spanish Translators
Bilingual Volunteer Translators (English-Spanish) are needed to assist the Westchester Land Trust team for its Grow Bag Giveaway program.
When this project is held in-person:
- Volunteers will help translate at a community event where grow bags containing fresh vegetables will be distributed to those who need it most. Translators will answer questions, teach guests how to care for the grow bags, promote the provided recipe cards, and speak to the importance of good nutrition and soil health. There will be resources available in Spanish and English to distribute as well.
When this project is held virtually:
- Volunteers will help translate during a follow-up Zoom meeting with community members who received the fabric grow bags containing fresh vegetables. Translators will answer questions relating to their experience with the grow bags and how people are harvesting and using their vegetables.
Volunteers do not need to be an expert on this information—all messaging and education will be provided beforehand. Sign up below!
