Sound the Alarm Volunteers in New Rochelle

Home fires claim seven lives every day, but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half. Volunteers are needed to help raise awareness and save lives by joining the American Red Cross's national effort to install 50,000 free smoke alarms in more than 50 at-risk communities.

On the "Sound the Alarm" day of action, volunteers will canvass the New Rochelle community to educate residents about the importance of installing smoke alarms, as well as provide home-safety checklists and plans. For families who previously signed up, volunteer teams will help install smoke alarms in New Rochelle homes. No prior experience is necessary; the American Red Cross will provide all training needed.
