2022 Devices and Patient Closet Organizer
Burke Rehabilitation Hospital is looking for Devices and Patient Closet Organizers to help track and organize the devices in its digital loan library and items in its patient belongings closet once per week.
For the digital devices, the volunteer would help the hospital's Patient Representative keep track of the iPads that are loaned out to patients. This entails:
- Checking in with patients each week to ensure they still have the iPads that were loaned to them
- Checking in with nursing stations and the medical office for iPads that may have been left there
- Maintaining the list of loaned iPads that have been checked out or returned
- Ensuring that all iPads are charged, cleaned, and that the memory has been wiped out (instructions will be provided)
For the patient belongings closet, the volunteer would help the hospital keep an inventory of the patients' belongings and making sure they are returned to their rightful owners. This entails:
- Going into the belongings closet and noting whose belongings belong to whom
- Updating and editing the inventory of belongings on a computer
- Contacting patient caregivers to ask them to retrieve the belongings
- Some light lifting might be involved as bags may need to be moved aside on the shelves in order to see their name tags
