STEM Program Marketing Manager
Destination Imagination is a global, volunteer-led nonprofit that hosts STEM/STEAM-focused creativity challenges for students. The organization is dedicated to inspiring K-12 students with projects that take them from imagination to innovation with the goal of encouraging critical thinking and interest in STEM/STEAM disciplines.
Destination Imagination is seeking a Marketing Manager to assist the marketing and development departments with advertising and promotional efforts, social media, press engagement, event organization, and mailings. This role may include completing clerical and administrative duties, research and preparing promotional materials and presentations, and contributing creative ideas. Good writing skills and knowledge of social media and Hootsuite are a plus.
This is a great role for a student seeking an internship and or any individual with marketing experience. This is a remote role with weekly meetings. College students who are studying teaching, marketing, science, or communications may be able to use this volunteer assignment for college credit.
Volunteer duties:
- Collecting data for use in mailings
- Analyzing data to identify trends
- Preparing marketing proposals and presentations for partnership meetings
- Monitoring and managing social media platforms and creating social media content
- Managing partner pipeline and mailings to partners
- Writing and posting press releases
Volunteer requirements:
- Must be 18+
- Must be organized, entrepreneurial, and a self-starter who is able to work independently
- Must be a good writer
- Must have a passion for inspiring students
- Familiarity with sales and social media platforms is a plus
Time commitment:
- 1-3 hours per week and a minimum commitment of 6 months
