2022 New Rochelle Children's Costume Parade and Treats Fest

New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) is hosting its annual Main Street Children's Costume Parade and Treats Fest and it needs volunteers to help! There are two primary volunteer roles:

• Volunteer Parade Ushers (9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.):
  • Parade Ushers must wear all black and comfortable shoes. New Rochelle Downtown BID will provide each volunteer with a bright cape and a hat
  • Hand out little flags and streamers to the children before parade procession begins
  • Direct parade participants to the correct parade sections
  • Hold parade banner at the front of the parade (requires 2 volunteers)
  • Walk with the families along Main Street from Memorial Highway to Ruby Dee Park at Library Green

• Volunteer Greeters (9 a.m.-12:45 p.m.):
  • Help with the post-parade Treats Fest at Ruby Dee Park at Library Green
  • Greet parade participants as they enter Ruby Dee Park and guide them in the correct direction
  • Give each child a branded bag to collect their treats as they enter the park
  • Stuff a downtown restaurant special parade discount flier into each bag and tell families about the lunch opportunities
  • Dance with children to the deejay's Halloween songs and TV tunes
  • Help families take photos near the lawn balloons
