Board Members

For over 60 years, Clay Art Center has been dedicated to providing members of the community with an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow through the arts. Clay Art Center is now growing its board of directors to help lead its next stage of growth and implement and evaluate its strategic plan. It is seeking candidates who can provide insight into strategic planning, marketing, social media, communications, HR, fundraising, finance, and real estate/facilities.

All interested applicants are interviewed and, if the right fit, invited to join one of Clay Art Center's committees (programs, development, finance, facilities, HR, marketing) before joining the board.

Time commitment:

  • Board meetings: 6 times per year (weekday evenings; Zoom or in-person)
  • Committee meetings: 6 times per year (Zoom or in-person)
  • Board term: 3 years, renewable for one additional term

Board expectations:

  • Make a personally meaningful financial contribution, participate in fundraising activities, and help cultivate new funders
  • Attend and volunteer at events (based on availability, between 2-6 times per year), including gallery openings, fundraisers, and pottery sales
  • Share information about programs and events on social media and throughout networks
