Philanthropy Program Coaches for Teens

Spiral Giving is a nonprofit program whose mission is to create community engagement in teens through a grant-awarding process. This is accomplished through a high school program that discusses the community's needs and awards grant money to local charities. Participants evaluate grants, hone decision-making skills, and learn the fundamentals of fundraising. The program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to expand their understanding of charitable giving beyond volunteer service hours.

Volunteers are needed to act as Coaches and implement the program with the students. Coaches are matched with a participating high school or club close to their community, and each club meets once or twice a month for 40 minutes between September and May. (Meeting schedules are determined by the Coaches, club/school advisors, and student leaders; meetings can be virtual or in-person.) In addition to attending club meetings, Coaches will need to complete about two hours a week of administrative work related to the club and program. Coaches will also participate in quarterly board meetings when available.

This is the perfect opportunity for retired teachers or anyone who wants to teach empathy and community-engagement to teens. Express interest below!
