2021-2022 Museum Playworkers

Westchester Children's Museum, located on the boardwalk of Rye Playland, offers a safe, energizing space for kids pre-K to middle school to learn by providing fun STEAM activities. The Museum is looking for Museum Playworker Volunteers to engage its visitors in a friendly, professional manner to help provide the best possible museum experience. Museum Playworkers will:

  • Set up and monitor the museum for daily operations
  • Greet and orient individual visitors and groups
  • Oversee activities on the exhibit floor
  • Serve as a guide, initiating contact with visitors to enrich the museum experience
  • Encourage fair and caring behavior among museum visitors and program participants
  • Assist visitors with special needs through the museum when requested
  • Monitor museum exhibits to be sure that they are in good working order

The Museum runs from Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sign up for one day, every week, or once a month—the time commitment is flexible! This is a great opportunity for high school and college students. Express interest below!
