2021 Volunteer Coordinators

Since 1968, Friends of Warner Library in Tarrytown has been committed to raising funds—primarily through its pop-up and Big Tent book sales—to support the extensive programs offered to the community by the Warner Library. It is currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to recruit and organize teams of volunteers to help set up and break down these book sales.

This position requires good communication and follow-up skills, as well as in-person attendance at the start and end of the book sales, which are normally held every few months. The Volunteer Coordinator would receive training and support on-site.

Responsibilities:

• Keep an updated email list of community volunteers
• Liaison with schools and volunteer organizations
• Check-in all volunteers at book sales to be sure they receive their service hours
• Follow up after the sale with service hours affirmation (provide hard copy forms for participating schools)
• This is an ongoing volunteer commitment

This position is wonderfully rewarding for someone who likes to work with young volunteers. The book sales are held outside and are frequented by both members of the community and bookworms traveling from other states, and it's always a fun day. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Friends of Warner Library has been hosting smaller pop-up sales as opposed to the semi-annual Big Tent Sales. Express interest below to set up an interview!
