2021 Literacy and Math Tutors

GiGi’s Playhouse Down Syndrome Achievement Center Westchester is currently looking for literacy and math tutors to join its team. Volunteer Literacy and Math Tutors will be tutoring on a one-on-one basis. Previous tutoring experience is not necessary; full training and support is provided.

Literacy and Math sessions run for 10-15 weeks (there are three sessions per year) and the total commitment will be about 1-1.5 hours per week. The schedule is flexible, and this opportunity is virtual and possibly in-person depending on the current situation! 

Session schedule:

  • Spring 2021 Session runs from 1/24/2021 to 5/8/2021
  • Summer 2021 Session runs from 6/13/2021 to 8/21/2021
  • Fall 2021 Session runs from 9/12/2021 to 12/18/2021

Volunteer requirements:

  • Must be 17+
  • Attend a one-hour orientation 
  • Attend one or two trainings 
  • Once these requirements have been fulfilled, a background check will be required
