Become a College Coach for Students - JESS TO MERGE

College Coaches work one-on-one with college-bound seniors who have been accepted into the Latino U Scholars program. Scholars are low-income, high-potential, Latino students who are the first in their families to attend college. They have been nominated by school counselors at Latino U College Access's partner school districts (Elmsford, Ossining, Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown, and White Plains) to be a part of the program based on their academics, leadership, and community engagement.

Volunteer College Coaches work with their assigned Scholar from June to May to help them as they build their lists of colleges, write their college essays, and complete their Common Applications. College Coaches provide encouragement and guidance as their Scholars take this important next step in life and help make their college dreams a reality.

Requirements:
College Coaches must be college graduates with computer proficiency, strong communication skills, and experience with the college admissions process. A background check is required.

Time commitment:
College Coaches must be able to participate in three mandatory training sessions and make a year-long commitment. Once training is complete, College Coaches will schedule individual sessions with their Scholars based on mutual availability.
