2020 Financial Aid Guides - White Plains
Latino U Scholars are low-income, high-potential, Latino students who are the first in their families to attend college. They have been nominated by school counselors at Latino U College Access's partner school districts (Ossining, Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown, and White Plains) to be a part of the program based on their academics, leadership, and community engagement.
Latino U College Access is now seeking volunteer Financial Aid Guides to participate in its Financial Aid Award Review Workshop. Volunteers will provide one-on-one assistance to Latino U Scholars and their families to help them understand financial aid award packages received from their top choice colleges and universities. This support will ensure that families make a decision that is the best academic, social, and financial fit for their college-bound child.
This year’s Financial Aid Award Review Workshop will take place on Sunday, April 5 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Volunteers will participate in a mandatory training session from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. before assisting students and families from 1-4 p.m.
Ideal volunteers are computer literate (especially with Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets) and comfortable reviewing financial documents. Bilingual volunteers with a bachelor’s degree are preferred, but not required!
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
