2020 Development Associates

The Development Associate works with and supports the Development Committee Chair of the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry in the areas of fundraising, outreach, and external communications. This in an ongoing volunteer role, requiring an average of 10 hours weekly that can be done mostly from home.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generate donation acknowledgement letters and related correspondence
  • Maintain development database (Donor Perfect) including timely gift processing and tracking
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports from Donor Perfect for Board
  • Generate donor lists as needed
  • Assist with community, media and public relations campaigns
  • Assist with implement branding and messaging strategies
  • Assist with bi-annual newsletter preparation
  • Review, edit and proofread all materials
  • Assist with planning and logistics of special events as needed
  • Work with Grants Committee on timely and complete submission of grant applications, fulfilling reporting requirements, interacting with grantors, implementing grant strategy, and participating in workshops, training and seminars

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to communicate persuasively and to proofread
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines and prioritize and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and as an effective member of a team
  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in related field (Communications, Non-profits, Event Planning, Fundraising, Grant-writing)
  • Broad-based computer skills, adept with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and Google Sheets, Social Media platforms. Experience with CRM databases such as Raiser’s Edge or Donor Perfect required
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information at all times
  • Flexible schedule, including ability to staff evening and weekend projects as needed

Schedule:
Up to 10 flexible hours per week, primarily from home; infrequent weekends and evenings required
