Advocate, CODA Mentor, CODA Advocate
The harris project advocates for teens & young adults with mental health and substance misuse/addiction (co-occurring disorders), and created a school-based prevention program – CODA (Co-Occurring Disorders Awareness) to empower high school students to change outcomes.
Volunteer Duties: Assist and lead alongside school personnel at meetings, programs, activities, and events.
Training: Onboarding orientation, bi-monthly trainings
Time Commitment: typical assignments bi-weekly for 2 hours; may include additional meetings and/or opportunities to support school-wide activities.
Skill Requirements: Good Communication skills, eager to mentor, knowledge of mental health challenges, substance misuse/addiction helpful
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
