Do you want to make a difference in your community and you happen to have a few hours per month to spare? Perhaps you're looking for a more meaningful way to use your lunch break, or you're hoping to fulfill community service requirements for college. Why not use that time to offer a ride to a local senior?
It Takes a Village is comprised of a team of devoted volunteers whose mission is to help senior members in Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow live independently in their homes, and volunteers are needed to drive these senior neighbors to their destinations in Westchester County. Whether a member needs to make their doctor's appointment, run errands, or take a trip to the grocery store, you can help!
This service is for members of It Takes A Village (ITAV 10591) living in Tarrytown or Sleepy Hollow and is offered Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteer drivers decide when they're available to be "on call," and they are contacted via email if a member is in need of a ride—whether it's one-way or round-trip. All volunteers are interviewed, screened, and vetted prior to becoming a driver. Express your interest below; bilingual (English-Spanish) volunteers are welcome to apply!
