2019 Volunteer College Coaches - White Plains
College Coaches work one-on-one with college-bound seniors who have been accepted into the Latino U College Access program. Our Scholars are high achieving Latino students who are first in their families to attend college and have been accepted into our program based on academics, leadership and community engagement.
As a college coach, you will work with Scholars from June 2019-May 2020 helpng them build their college list, write their personal essay statements, and complete the Common Application. You will provide encouragement and guidance as they take this important next step in their lives. Join us and help make college dreams come true!
Requirements: college graduate, computer literacy, strong communication skills. Background check required.
Time committment: Ability to participate in training and make a year-long committment. Volunteer training is 3 sessions and offered morning and evening on May 7, 14, and 16. Once you complete the training you will schedule your sessions with your Scholar individually.
