10th Annual Great Saw Mill River Clean Up: Farragut Avenue Site - Hastings
Volunteers will join site supervisor and Groundwork Hudson Valley staff member, Steve Pucillo, to conduct vine cuttings (under supervision) and a garbage cleanup along the shoreline and water using kayaks at the Farragut Avenue site in Hastings.
This is one of Groundwork Hudson Valley's restoration sites complete with new kayak launches, birdhouses, tree plantings, and a cross-country ski trail. Wear sturdy shoes (no flip-flops!), long pants and long sleeves to protect from ticks and poison ivy; bring gloves if you have them and carry water to stay hydrated. We'll have equipment, trash bags, and a limited supply of gloves.
Volunteers must be 18+ to be in the water on a vessel (unless you bring your own).

Directions: This site is located along the South County Trailway off exit 13 of the Saw Mill River Parkway. Meet at the parking lot directly off Saw Mill River Exit 13 and before Saw Mill River Road.
