Pajama Program Reading Party

Our Reading Parties begin with circle time introductions and continue with reading in pairs (1 child to 1 adult volunteer) or small groups. During the Reading Party, the children receive a snack, a new pair of pajamas and a new storybook of their choice.

• The children range in ages from Babies-12 years old.
• Reading Parties last approximately an hour. 

All Pajama Program volunteers are required to complete an on-line Volunteer Application and Background Check prior to volunteering with Pajama Program.

The Pajama Program provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many who are waiting and hoping to be adopted. Thousands of the children we serve live in orphanages, group homes and shelters and are shuffled often between temporary living facilities. Many of them have been abused or abandoned, and have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at bedtime and read to them. Since 2001 with your help we have provided more that 550,000 pajamas and 250,000 books to children in need nationwide!
