Outreach Support Specialist

The Crossover Yoga Project's (CYP) Outreach Support Specialist uses best practices to effectively bring CYP's curriculum to organizations in community centers, shelters, residential treatment centers and juvenile detention centers in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties. CYP's program has empowered over 1800 girls in the past two years through trauma informed yoga, mindfulness and creative art expression and offered tools that help them to manage their emotions, become self-aware, gain self control and respect for themselves.

The position is responsible for working with community partners to recruit and identify eligible shelters, community centers, residential treatment centers and juvenile detention centers in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland Counties, to engage service providers for deeper engagement with CYP’s programs. The position works under the supervision of the CYP’s Board and Executive Director. They will collaborate across a number of CYP enthusiasts, volunteers and staff.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Advocates on behalf of CYP’s program to identify and connect with community partners, such as social service agencies, detention centers and community-based resources.

  • Enthusiastically sharing CYP’s message through social media

  • Acting as liaison between CYP and current/potential community partners

  • Contacting (filling out forms, gathering information, etc.), tracking enrollment challenges and successes and serving as a liaison between families, childcare centers and the Child Care Assistance program.

  • Responsible for gathering and tracking information for CYP database

  • Other duties pertaining to community outreach

  • Attending monthly meetings

  • Works in partnership with CYP to engage community volunteers for opportunities to increase in-kind donations of time and supplies.
