High School Internship: Farm Volunteer
Hilltop Hanover Farm's internships provide students with hands-on opportunities to work alongside farmers throughout all aspects of plant propagation, cultivation, and the harvest of numerous varieties of organically grown vegetable crops. Working on the farm is a rewarding experience, but it may be physically demanding at times; tasks take place in all kinds of weather, so interns should dress and plan accordingly.
Interns should have the desire to contribute daily in a rigorous, fast-paced agricultural setting. Interns take part in some or all of the necessary fieldwork, including seeding, transplanting, weeding, thinning, watering, harvesting, and pest control, as well as washing, sorting and packaging vegetables for market.
If you are interested in Food Justice, Environmental, or Agricultural studies, this unpaid internship is for you! Hilltop Hanover Farm works with high school students to schedule their internships according to their schools' attendance and program guidelines. Interns receive volunteer service credit, learning, and experience; Hilltop Hanover Farm will provide a reference letter upon completion of volunteer work.
Spots are limited, so please submit early.
