2018 Mayor’s Day of Recognition for National Service

Volunteer New York!'s RSVP of Westchester Senior Corps members were highlighted and celebrated at the 2018 Mayor's Day of Recognition for National Service in the city of New Rochelle with Mayor Noam Bramson at the Hugh Doyle Senior Center on April 3, 2018.

In New Rochelle Senior Corps members are supporting the Hugh Doyle Senior Center: volunteering to help deliver meals, serving as advisory council members, assisting in the kitchen, and working as handymen. At Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital, another RSVP of Westchester station, Senior Corps members volunteer as patient advocates, in the gift shop, as recreational therapy assistants, caregivers and provide adult day care aid.

There are many ways to volunteer in New Rochelle, but for adults over 55, RSVP of Westchester is a growing group of leaders dedicated to their community.

National Service is more important now than ever before with over 194 million citizens who serve across America every year through the Corporation for National and Community Service.
