PackBack To School Backpacks
Volunteers are needed to pack backpacks with school supplies! Join us as we create 800 backpacks for youngsters from low-income families so they can start their school year with the tools they need to be successful students. There will be 2 events: Tuesday, August 23 10am to 12:30pm or 1pm to 3pm At The Sharing Shelf of FSW Warehouse, 47 Purdy Avenue, Port Chester, NY 10573 Volunteers must be 10 years old or older. Volunteers 10-14 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Teens 15-17 years old must have a waiver signed by parent or guardian. We request all volunteers to commit to a complete shift. To register, email thesharingshelf@fsw.org Location: The Sharing Shelf is located in a building complex on the left side of Purdy Avenue, just past Townsend Avenue. Look for a blue sign with multiple business listings. Turn left into the driveway and come up the hill. We are at the far right end of the building, behind Cascade Pool. It is run by volunteers and relies on volunteers to achieve its mission. The program collects new and gently used clothing and other items for infants, youth and teens then distributes those items to children in need at no cost to the families.
