Meadow Management at Sugar Hill Farm

Join Preserve Manager Ben and Conservation Tech Stella for a hands-on volunteer day focused on restoring and maintaining the native meadow ecosystem at Sugar Hill Farm. Volunteers will help with removing invasive species to promote native growth, improve biodiversity, and prepare the meadow for the growing season. This work will support pollinators and other wildlife that depend on the meadow for food and habitat.

Connect with nature, meet fellow community members, and make a meaningful impact on our local environment!

Terrain and accessibility:

  • Less than a quarter mile of walking is required on a level mowed path.

Safety and preparation:

  • Wear long pants, long sleeves, close-toed shoes, dress in layers, and tuck pants into socks to avoid exposure to ticks and poison ivy.
  • Bring a water bottle and wear sun protection.
  • Light snacks, work gloves, and tools will be provided.
  • Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be registered as part of the adult's team.
  • No prior trail maintenance experience needed!
