Front Desk Volunteers

The Music Conservatory of Westchester is dedicated to providing the extraordinary benefits of music to everyone in the community regardless of age, ability, or background. From classical to jazz, rock to musical theatre, its programs nurture creativity, confidence, and connection.

The Music Conservatory of Westchester is seeking Front Desk Volunteers who are passionate about music and community. These volunteers create a warm, inclusive, and professional environment for students, families, faculty, and guests to ensure that every person feels valued and inspired.

Volunteer tasks and responsibilities:

• Answer telephone, screen and direct calls; relay messages as needed
• Provide information to callers, students, families, and staff
• Greet visitors entering the main entrance
• Direct visitors, students, and faculty to the correct destination
• Ensure knowledge of room assignments, reservations, and events
• Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
• Provide administrative and clerical support as needed
• Receive and sort mail and deliveries
• Maintain the front end; keep reception area neat/organized, resupply inventory, forms, etc.
• Process tuition and other payments
• Handle initial response for inquiries and inform potential customers of available programs

Education and experience:

• High school diploma
• Customer Service experience
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
• Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office
