Literacy Coordinators

GiGi's Playhouse Westchester is a 99% volunteer-led non-profit organization that offers free and purposeful programs to the community, including three one-on-one literacy tutoring sessions a year for participants from age three to adults.

The Literacy Coordinator is the key volunteer supporting and overseeing GiGi's Playhouse Literacy Tutoring Program. The Coordinator works collaboratively with the Program Director and team of Literacy Volunteers to provide a high-quality, outcome-driven literacy tutoring. Full training and support are provided.

Experience and requirements:

• Must participate in monthly National Program conference calls with GiGi's Playhouse and relay information on program development and enhancements to the team of Literacy Volunteers at the Playhouse
• Moderate knowledge of computers and data entry with experience using Microsoft Office suite, especially Publisher, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Training can be provided.
• Excellent communication skills, positivity, and enthusiasm for GiGi's Playhouse
• Good organizational skills
• Experience with leading a team is beneficial, but not required
• Must be 18+

Time commitment:

• At least 5-12 hours per week
