Invasive Species Management at Danner Family Preserve

Danner Family Preserve preserve was once used as farmland, and the working of the earth created disturbances that invasive plants flourish in. Now, a thick mat of invasive vines are stopped or slowing the growth of desirable vegetation. Join Westchester Land Trust's Preserve Manager, Ben Kleist, and Conservation Technician, Stella Verseci, in cutting invasive vines and vegetation throughout Danner Family Preserve to help protect native trees and support forest health.

Important details:

  • Terrain: Less than half a mile of hiking required.
  • Safety and preparation: Wear long pants, long sleeves, close-toed shoes, and dress in layers. Bring a water bottle; light snacks, work gloves, and tools will be provided. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Weather: This event occurs rain or shine.
