Support Counselors for Seniors
VCS Inc. (formally Volunteer Counseling Services) provides accessible and affordable counseling services and family support programs for those who need it. VCS is seeking empathetic volunteers (ages 25+) to help provide companionship, bereavement, and grief processing support for its senior clients. Once training is complete, volunteers are matched with seniors and will meet face-to-face or via Zoom or phone.
Volunteer requirements:
- Must be 25+
- Must have strong empathy and listening skills
- Must be able to commit to at least 18 months of volunteering
- Must complete a 12-week training (2 hours per week) at VCS's office
- Must cover the cost of training (one-time cost of $350)
