Volunteer Program Staff

G.O.O.D. for Girls, Inc. is a 501(c)3 community-based asset/leadership development and mentoring organization for girls ages 9-18. It provides consistent specialized and group mentoring to help develop and strengthen positive internal assets, including positive self-esteem and values, social competencies, positive identity, empowerment, constructive use of time, commitment to learning, boundaries, expectations, and support. The girls meet the first and third Saturdays of each month for focused interactive learning activities, attend special events, go on trips, or engage in community service which will support their growth.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Work both directly and indirectly with young girls ages 9-18
  • Assist with program curriculum design and implementation
  • Act as a role model/teacher/mentor and provide guidance to support the positive development of program participants (mentees)
  • Collaborate with various organizations and community leaders to secure resources to help create robust programming
  • Be flexible and have a sense of humor

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years or more of post high school education preferred
  • Strong desire to work with and encourage young girls to be their best selves
  • Patience, conflict-resolution, and behavioral management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work well with teams
  • Experience working with youth preferred
  • Must successfully complete a background check
  • Available for weekly team meetings
  • Attend Saturday sessions every first and third Saturdays
