2023 New Rochelle Summer Send Off

Volunteers are needed to support the City of New Rochelle's Summer Send Off, featuring food, music, activities for the family, and the distribution of bookbags and school supplies to New Rochelle students. Prior to the Summer Send Off event, volunteers will help with placing donated school supplies in bookbags at City Hall. During the Summer Send Off, volunteers will support the event by assisting with event setup, registration, or serving as floaters/runners for the various nonprofit partners at Ruby Dee Park.

Summer Send Off Prep (8/22-8/24 from 2-5 p.m.):

• Take inventory of school supplies for distribution
• Place school supplies in bookbags

Summer Send Off (8/26 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m.):

• Event Setup: help nonprofits set up bookbag distribution tables)
• Registration: oversee the registration table for families receiving bookbags
• Floaters/Runners: help replenish bookbags when stations run low and assist where needed
• Cleanup: disassemble promo booths (if needed)
