2022 Financial Literacy Mentors for High School Students - Spring Valley
Volunteers are needed to teach JA Personal Finance 2.0 courses to high school students in Rockland County. Through JA Personal Finance 2.0, students experience the interrelationship between today's financial decisions and future financial freedom. To achieve financial health and wellness, they learn about money-management strategies, including earning, employment and income, budgeting, savings, credit and debt, consumer protection, smart shopping, risk management, investing, credit card usage, debt management, and net worth.
The program consists of five sessions/lessons and will be taught to four separate classes on a weekly basis. The program is expected to begin in November 2022 and run for five weeks on Wednesdays. (No sessions will be scheduled for Thanksgiving week.)
Training and materials will be provided to ensure an informative and fun experience for volunteers and students alike. Volunteer Personal Finance Teachers will be needed for approximately 45-minute periods once a week for five weeks during school hours.
