United States Volunteer Emergency Management

To make effective and efficient use of resources allocated. To train, certify, and deploy volunteers nationwide. To provide Responder Support, Disaster Relief, and Search and Rescue response services at no cost to survivors or responders. To provide ongoing education in all aspects of the Emergency Management Cycle, including a national preparedness outreach program. To research advanced Search and Rescue technologies, severe weather, natural & manmade disasters, and implement mitigation as appropriate. To provide emergency communications (EMCOMM) to afflicted areas, including cellular signal boosters and satellite capabilities. To implement the Incident Command System, integrating and collaborating with local, state, and national organizations and agencies. ​ To prevent fraud, as well as waste, of donated materials and funds, including misuse, before, during, and after disaster strikes. To provide “Always-On-Call” specially-outfitted All-Hazards response vehicles and highly trained Task Force members. (Rapid Response) ​ To fulfill the roles of various Emergency Support Functions (ESF’s) as appropriate.
