Invasive Species Management at Zofnass Family Preserve

The Westchester Wilderness Walk at Zofnass Family Preserve is cherished for its diverse ecosystems with more than 400 species of vegetation across 127 sprawling acres. Join Preserve Manager, Ben Kleist, and Conservation Technician, Stella Verseci, to perform a variety of invasive and habitat management tasks, including (but not limited to): cutting invasive vines, planting native trees, installing tree tubes, and practicing habitat restoration.

Important details:

• Terrain: Hiking distances vary between 1 and 5 miles depending on tasks and trail conditions. Trail conditions include steep inclines, bare rock, steps, and stream crossings.
• Safety and preparation: Wear long pants, long sleeves, close-toed shoes, and dress in layers. Bring a water bottle; light snacks, work gloves, and tools will be provided. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Weather: This event occurs rain or shine.
