Birthday Party Coordinator
SPCA Westchester is seeking a Volunteer Birthday Party Coordinator to offer children a compassion-cultivating, pawsitively-purrfect birthday party! The coordinator will lead the set-up, clean-up, and facilitation of 1.5-hour birthday parties for children no less than 6 years old with the aid of volunteers and/or staff. Parties consist of 12 children or less with at least one accompanying adult.
Why volunteer? Animal shelters nationwide are experiencing higher animal intakes and lower adoption rates than in years past. This volunteer opportunity is well-suited to help SPCA educate, expand, and deepen its connection with the community as this is an essential step to combat the problem of animal homelessness.
Requirements:
- Willingness to commit 3-4 hours to volunteering on weekends
- Must be professional, communicative, organized, and highly dependable
- Must have the ability to multitask and remain calm under mildly busy circumstances
- Competence in kind and respectful communication across various personality types (children and adults)
- Comfort and experience in handling puppies preferred
- Must pass a background check
