2022 Colonial Tavern Night

Party like it's 1784! The Huguenot and New Rochelle Historical Association kicks off its Thomas Paine Festival by transforming the Thomas Paine Cottage into an 18th-century tavern with period music, food, fire, and fun. This event recognizes June 16, 1784, the date that New York State awarded Thomas Paine the farmland that the Paine Cottage sits upon. All proceeds will benefit educational and community events and historical preservation work.

Volunteers can assist with the following activities:

  • Buffet table (5-8:30 p.m.): replenish food and serve items, box up any leftovers
  • Tavern table (5-8:30 p.m.): assist with supplies at the Colonial Tavern
  • Tavern servers (5-8 p.m.): walk around and offer appetizers to attendees
  • Setup crew (3-5 p.m.): help set up tables, buffet area, fire pits
  • Teardown crew (8-9:15 p.m.): help break down and clean up post-event

Volunteers can sign up for multiple shifts below; 18th-century costumes are encouraged but not required!
