2021 Bilingual (Korean/English) Volunteer Translators
The Y-Zone is a digital opportunity zone (DOZ) that will provide free internet access to approximately 250-500 need-based households within southwest Yonkers. A group of Westchester-based partners from the business, nonprofit, and community sectors have come together with seed funding for this pilot program by US Ignite, a national leader in digital innovation and equity.
The Y-Zone team is looking for volunteers to assist in the translation of marketing materials. These materials will be used to engage Yonkers residents who primarily speak Korean. Ideal candidates will be bilingual in English and Korean. The Y-Zone team will translate the materials as a rough draft. After, the translations will be sent to the volunteers to proofread for accuracy. Lastly, the volunteers will add their edits and send the materials back to the Y-Zone team.
