2019 Food Truck Unloading and Distribution
In 2018, our Food Recovery Program saved over 40,000 pounds of consumable food that would otherwise have gone into landfills-- feeding those in need and benefitting our environment. This year we hope to increase that with YOUR help.
On the fourth Tuesday of the month year-round we receive a tractor-trailer full of recovered farm-fresh produce from farms upstate. We need volunteers to assist in signing in participating pantries, counting boxes, and clearing away pallets and debris from the distribution lot in West Nyack. Following the distribution, volunteers assist us in unloading and storing items at the TOUCH food bank. Time commitment: 1-3 hours. Volunteers should be in good physical condition and able to lift 50 lbs.
