New Development Director, Elisabeth Vieselmeyer Joins Volunteer New York! Team To Help Support Local Nonprofits, Make Meaningful Volunteer Connections, and Inspire Volunteerism Throughout Westchester, Rockland and Putnam.

Since having gone through a successful rebranding campaign in 2014, Volunteer New York!, which was originally founded by volunteers in 1949, has continued to grow as a beacon of volunteerism in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam. Last year Volunteer New York! inspired over 20,000 volunteers to take action, and facilitated over 285,000 hours of service at a value of $8.1 million to our community.

“I am honored to join the Volunteer New York! team! The organization has grown under Alisa Kesten’s passionate leadership and I am excited to help increase support for Volunteer New York!’s incredible impact in Westchester, Putnam, and Rockland Counties,” said Vieselmeyer. “The thousands of volunteers who commit their time and talent keep our communities thriving and are a true inspiration.”

Volunteer New York!’s annual fundraising gala, the Volunteer Spirit Awards, is the perennial feel-good bucket-list event of the spring. Volunteer nominations are now open for the 2018 Volunteer Spirit Awards. This event, entering its 38th year, is typically a sold-out breakfast fundraiser to support local volunteerism, with over 600 guests that join together to recognize a truly select group of inspirational changemakers in our community and to celebrate the power of what volunteerism can do during National Volunteer Month every April.
