Pinwheel Project, The

The Pinwheel Project is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) children’s charity whose mission is to ensure that no child or family ever feels hopeless or alone during the ordeal of a pediatric hospital stay. The practical help and emotional support, which we provide at no cost, is designed to create an atmosphere that promotes healing. Since it’s founding in 2003, our goal has been to bring comfort and “normalcy” to children and families whose lives have been disrupted by illness or injury. Whenever possible, we try to deliver our services and ‘goodies’ directly to the kids at their bedside. But if our volunteers cannot be there in person, we ship all materials directly to the hospitals. By working closely with hospital staff, we’re assured that they will distribute the many toys, art supplies, distractions, snacks, gifts and family support services that we provide. Thanks to your generous donations, their job is made easier by just knowing they have the tools needed to soothe fearful young patients. Working with these dedicated caregivers also enables us to reach many more children. This year alone our program services will touch the lives of over 60,000 hospitalized kids and families “…giving them a reason to smile”.
