Sustainable Sleepy Hollow (SSH)

Sustainable Sleepy Hollow is the combination of the Village's Sleepy Hollow Environmental Advisory Committee (SHEAC) and the Climate Smart Communities (CSC) Task Force.

SHEAC Mission Statement:

The purpose and mission of the SHEAC is to help build awareness and support for the development, management and protection of Sleepy Hollow’s natural resources; to assist and provide input into the drafting of environmental local laws designed to provide protection for our natural resources; and to participate in environmental reviews when requested by the Board of Trustees or the Planning Board.

About the CSC Task Force:

Sleepy Hollow became a bronze certified Climate Smart Community (CSC) in 2020 with the goal of helping our village become a more climate resilient community. The volunteer-run CSC Task Force works to generate cost savings through increased energy independence and security, improved air quality through switching to green energy, creation of a healthier and more walkable downtown, conservation of green space for recreation and biodiversity, and investment in our local economy supporting long term and sustainable businesses.
