2026 New Rochelle Thanksgiving Parade

Volunteers are needed to walk as Balloon or Banner Holders for the New Rochelle Thanksgiving Parade! Volunteers must be able to commit to the full shift—please do not leave until you are dismissed since this is a full team effort! This volunteer opportunity is held rain or shine so please dress appropriately. Volunteers are needed for the following roles:

• Balloon Holders
  • Set up and walk with giant balloons for the entire length of the parade route, clean and take down floats, and clean up litter. Volunteers will wear shirts that match their balloons.
    • No experience is necessary, but all volunteers must attend an on-site training, be comfortable performing physical labor, and be able to walk 1.5 miles.
• Banner Holders
  • Set up and dismantle banners, set up signs, walk with banners through the parade, gather plywood and generators, take down floats, and clean up litter. Volunteers will wear shirts that match their banners.
    • No experience is necessary, but all volunteers must attend an on-site training, be comfortable performing physical labor, and be able to walk 1.5 miles.
• Hot Chocolate Table Volunteers
  • ​Set up and clean up hot chocolate station, set up signs, fill and distribute hot chocolate, restock supplies as needed, return supplies when complete, move sandbags.
• Parade Support
  • Set up T-shirts, signs and water station, mark division areas, check-in fellow volunteers as they arrive, and distribute T-shirts.

• Volunteers who sign up for more than one shift will be reassigned to the role where they are needed most.
