2026 City of Forest Day - Sandford Sweep Cleanup

Join Hutchinson River Restoration Project for a unique cleanup that gives participants the opportunity to make a direct impact on the health of the Hutchinson River while experiencing the ecosystem up close. Volunteers will help clean the shoreline and also enter the river wearing waders to remove debris directly from the riverbed.

By removing litter from both the water and surrounding shoreline, volunteers will help improve water quality, protect wildlife habitats, and prevent debris from traveling further downstream. Whether a returning volunteer or joining for the first time, volunteers make a real difference in restoring and protecting this important urban waterway.

Waders and boots are available to borrow, but supplies are limited. Volunteers may email the coordinator ahead of time to reserve equipment and include their shoe size to ensure proper gear is available.
