Volunteer Drivers for Seniors
The Province of St. Mary is a Capuchin Franciscan (Catholic) religious organization whose retired members live in Yonkers. Since many of them no longer drive, they often need rides to medical appointments as well as run errands such as going to the pharmacy or a convenience store. Volunteers can help by offering a ride!
Volunteers can specify which type of trips they'd be interested in doing and can choose how often they'd like to volunteer. Medical appointments are typically in the morning between 9 a.m. and noon. The Province of St. Mary will provide the automobile.
Volunteer driver requirements:
- Must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Must be 21+
- Must pass a criminal history and background check (no cost to volunteer)
