Hiking Trail Maintainers - Westchester County

Hiking Trail Maintainers help provide a well-maintained trail to give the public a pleasant and safe hiking experience! Each Maintainer is expected to hike and care for their adopted trail and report their efforts back to their volunteer supervisor. Responsibilities include keeping the trail clear, making sure it's well-marked, and reporting major issues.

No experience is necessary. Training is provided through the Introduction to Trail Maintenance workshops or with the experienced volunteer who serves as the Trail Supervisor in the region.

Volunteers must be 18 or older to apply for this volunteer position. Volunteers under 18 (ages 10-17) must have their grown-up apply for the Trail Maintainer position "As a Family, Group or Team."

Maintainers are needed for the following Westchester County parks and preserves: Taxter Ridge Park Preserve (Irvington), Muscoot Farm (Katonah), Hunt Parker Sanctuary (Katonah), Franklin-Fels Sanctuary (North Salem), Town of Lewisboro parks, and Merestead Park (Mount Kisco).
