Trail Stewards Training
Lasdon Public Gardens is seeking volunteers to become Certified Trail Stewards!
Join Friends of Lasdon Public Gardens for an in-person, hands-on training and workshop in partnership with the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference. Volunteers will learn the fundamentals of trail stewardship: identifying and managing invasive species; safe and effective cutting and clearing techniques; and the principles of trail design that keep paths safe, sustainable, and welcoming for every hiker. Training blends guided instruction with hands-on practice so volunteers leave confident and ready to work.
This training also marks the official kickoff of Lasdon Public Gardens' Trail Stewards program. This is more than a volunteer training: it's a chance to develop a specialized skill set, connect with fellow conservation-minded people, and become part of the founding cohort leaving a lasting mark on Lasdon Public Gardens' 3.5 miles of trails.
