2026 Back-to-School Supply Giveaway Backpack Drive
The Blue Resource Table, Inc., a Peekskill-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is collecting new backpacks for its 11th Annual Back to School Supply Giveaway. This year, more than 1,300 children from Peekskill and surrounding areas will be sent back to school with a new backpack filled with grade-appropriate supplies—and over 300 families have already registered.
What's needed:
- New backpacks in all sizes, from Pre-K through high school
- Larger backpacks for middle- and high-school students are especially needed as they are always the first to run out!
How it works:
- Volunteers will collect backpacks on their own schedule and donate them by Friday, August 14, 2026 so every backpack can be stuffed with supplies before the event day on August 20
- The Blue Resource Table will gladly arrange a drop-off or pickup that works for volunteers' schedules
This is a great opportunity for individuals, families, companies, and community groups. Every backpack goes directly to a child in Pre-K through 12th grade and helps young scholars start the year confident and ready to learn. Express interest below to get started!
