Treasurer
Civic Helpers is seeking a conscientious individual to serve as its Treasurer. The Treasurer will assist with maintaining electronic financial books and related government filings. Facility with numbers, an attention to details, and familiarity with QuickBooks Online are all pluses.
Although the Treasurer historically is not a member of the board of directors, all officers are invited to attend occasional board meetings (held via Zoom).
Total time commitment is only a couple of hours a month. Fundraising is not an inherent role of the Treasurer, although assistance in that regard is always welcome.

Civic Helpers is an all-remote nonprofit centered in White Plains and serving all of Westchester County and New York State. Founded in 2024 and launched publicly in October 2025, Civic Helpers assists individuals and organizations throughout New York State to overcome hurdles with government agencies, utilities, and health insurance companies. The group solves problems in ways that don't just help one person at a time but improves things more broadly.
In its first year of operations, Civic Helpers unlocked $500,000 in grant dollars for other nonprofits and compelled the American Medical Association to update a nationwide medical billing code that improved access to copay-free cancer screening and preventative medicine.
