Bluebird Community Nest Monitoring
The Westchester Parks Foundation and Westchester County Parks are requesting volunteers to help protect native cavity nesting birds and monitor their populations. This program will focus primarily on eastern bluebirds and tree swallows, although other species may be observed as well.
No experience necessary! Training will be provided. Nest monitoring will occur between March and August. Ideally, volunteers will monitor the site twice a week in the afternoon/evening.
Data collected through this program will contribute to conservationists' understanding of the avian species of this ecosystem and help us learn how to best promote a robust population within their native habitat.

- All volunteers must attend an in-person training session before participating in this project. Once trained, volunteers' schedules can be flexible.
- Volunteers must be 18+; youth volunteers ages 12-17 must be added as part of an adult volunteer's team.
