2026 FIRST Robotics Hudson Valley Regional Competition
The FIRST® Robotics Hudson Valley Regional Competition brings together high school students from across New York State and as far away as Taipei for a 3-day competition. This competition will showcase their hard work after an intense eight weeks of designing and building a 100-pound robot that completes this season's challenge. Students are recognized for their design excellence, competitive play, sportsmanship, and high-impact partnerships between schools, businesses, and communities.
The 2026 competition takes place from March 19-21. A number of volunteer positions are available:
- Event Photographers: capture the action and energy of students and their robots
- Event Judges: evaluate how the teams and students qualify for awards that recognize their creativity and accomplishments
- Queuers: help teams arrive on time for each match in the series of practice and qualifying games
- Room Assistants: various assignments to help volunteers, teams, and visitors navigate the event space—including the practice room, volunteer room, and quiet room—at Rockland Community College fieldhouse
- Safety Attendants: under leadership of the event's Safety Manager, this role supports teams in executing their work safely and helps visitors safely visit event work areas
- General Volunteers: this event is dynamic and accommodates hundreds of students and visitors, so there are always interesting roles to fill! General volunteers can be assigned where needed
