Mentors for Young Adult Foster Youth
Sunflower of Westchester is seeking adult volunteers to provide one-on-one support to current or former foster youth. Volunteer Mentors will coach youth on a variety of important subjects, such as financial literacy, career development, health and wellness, and essential life skills. All mentors are provided with curriculum and a playbook, and volunteers can choose how they work with their protégé in a way that best suits the volunteer's schedule and other life commitments.
Mentor requirements:
- Must be 21+
- Must have professional experience
- Must undergo a background check
- Must complete a virtual training
- Must commit 60 minutes of mentorship each week three times per month for 6 months (18 virtual sessions total)
- Must be proficient in a video conferencing platform
